Gary Buckman, Lakota Artist

Gary was born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and raised in Wounded Knee (Chunkpe Opi), South Dakota. He was encouraged at an early age to pursue his art by his grandparents, who taught him the language and the ways.

Gary is pictured at Pacific Traditions wearing his Breastplate ($495) holding his Traditional Dance Staff ($140), and standing next to his Pony Soldier Medicine ($495.)

Traditional Dance Staff
This traditional dance staff was created using Antler, Ermine Tails, and Doe Toes. The red represents fire and the black symbolizes mystery.
