Inspired by Mungo Martin when he was just 14 years old, Leonard Sylvester has pursued carving with a passion ever since. He was born and raised on the Kuper Island Reserve and was aware of his rich and complex culture from a very young age. He has been influenced by the damatic spindle whorls of his Coast Salish heritage and carves them as well as boxes, sculptures, paddles, and bowls. $1600 |
